Pulteneytown People’s Project is contracted to deliver The Employability Fund Programme stage 3 for Skills Development Scotland (SDS).
The purpose of the programme is to prepare participants for employment or further training opportunities in their chosen work interest area, by supporting them to improve their knowledge and basic skills required for their chosen sector.
The programme focuses on work-based knowledge, skills and experience to be gained both within our training centre and on work placements, with any relevant training needs being addressed as per each participant’s individual training plan
During weeks 1 & 2 participants will spend one and a half days per week in the training centre and will work with their tutor to find a work placement suited to their abilities and areas of interest. Participants are then invited to attend an interview with the employer to ensure that both participant and employer are happy to proceed with the work placement.
From week 3 – 12 participants will have one classroom day per week and 3 – 4 days per week in their work placement. Placement opportunities include:
During the 12 weeks on programme participants will work towards achieving the Certificate of Work Readiness (practical workplace skills), along with SCQF Level 4 Awards:
OUR AIM
To find the best match for participants and employers to try to ensure a successful outcome for both participant and employer.
SUPPORT
There is no cost to the employer as participants receive a weekly training allowance from either DWP or SDS during their placement. Participants are supported by our employability team while on work placement, with regular visits and monitoring to ensure participants are supported and achieving work goals. Employers are contacted weekly to make sure they are happy with the placement and to ensure any concerns or issues with either participants or employer are addressed and remedied.
BENEFITS
There are a variety of incentives to help employers with costs and the Pulteney Centre can help you find a suitable incentive for your business and to guide you through the application processes. These incentives do change from time to time, however, we would work with you to find the most suitable for your business.
