We didn’t do a competition day yesterday as everyone was busy at our very successful Christmas Fun Day, so today is Day 6 of our 12 Days of Christmas and the chance to go in the draw for £200. Often the community do not know what we do because we are so busy doing things that we don’t have time to tell people. We have a full and active programme of activities over the Christmas period for the community starting on Saturday 15th December. We will have our cinema set up and we are showing preschool cartoons from 10.00am in the morning with a kids movie at 1.00pm in the afternoon, this will be free of charge with the option of buying some raffles for our Christmas Hamper’s. Telfords will have their breakfast and lunch menu, along with home baking and Caithness Coffee. During the week the Cinema is being used by Newton Park Primary, Bower Primary School, Lorraine Bremner and Elise Lyall School of Dance, Craig’s Football Group, our Little Stars and After School Club for their Christmas celebrations. We are also open to the public with our Golden Years Film, on A Star is Born with Judy Garland on the 19th of December, movie starts at 2.30pm entry FREE with an optional afternoon tea served at 1.30pm cost of £5 booking essential please call reception to book 01955 608530. A lovely afternoon out for those wanting to see the original film of this year’s blockbuster. We will have afternoon tea in Telfords before the event. We are providing a private Christmas Lunch for the Macular Society on the Tuesday. We will be taking down the cinema and re-organising the hall to provide our Christmas Lunch to 40 plus pensioners in the community. The meal is made by our trained volunteers, many in their late 60’s who cook and provide home baking. Our team of volunteers from Homelink, along with staff will set the room up, and Newton Park Choir is coming along to welcome them in. Some of the entertainers from throughout the year are coming back for their lunch and catch up. On Friday 20th and Saturday 21st the Bouncy Castles will be up in the hall. We are going to try out a babies session with our smaller bouncy castle and age appropriate toys from 9.00 am to 10.30 am for under 18 months. We will have a Caithness Coffee and home made Star Pastry for £4.00. If it works we will make it a regular weekly event after the Holidays.
